FFA-- 1980-81

Fred H. Cornaby was probably the most influencial teacher that I had while attending PHS.

13 February 2010

I have asked someone else, from our class, to consider building an actual PHS Class of 1982 web-page, in order to better keep everything organized and to allow more interaction from all classmates. I have come to realize that a blog is not the best medium for accomplishing this task. I'll post the link once the web-page is created.

If you use Facebook, please visit the "Provo High School Class of 1982 Alumni" group and then join in.

From this point on, this blog will focus on my recollections from the PHS years.

Scenes From Main Hall

Scenes From Main Hall

Somewhere in my memory, I do recall
Spending a lot of time hanging out in Main Hall
The names, faces and voices I have come to find
Are all still familiar and vivid within my mind

There was a social status for everyone there
For boys and girls—even those from Farrer
Eastside, Westside, Cowboy or Jock
Even those who wasted their minds on that lousy Punk Rock

Little Clay Lowe with his trendy mullet always could be seen
Standing and talking to his buddies by the candy machine
And when Wade Binks walked thru the hall, you could always see the effects
That he had on all the girls each time that he stopped and flexed

Our wardrobes had a way of telling who we were- just like family crests
The trendy O.P. shirts, FFA jackets or the western vests
Hats were not allowed- if you wore one you were sure to get heck
From the Dear old bald man himself—Monty Groesbeck

Time moves everything forward, and those things are all in the past
And life seems to be passing by way too fast
I wish that I could go back once more to view it all
Everything that was happening there in Main Hall

A Poem From Dan Udall

Provo High Class of 82

I know a guy named Clay Lowe
He and others used to like to go
Cruising on the streets of Provo
Clay and his gang had a blast, so

We decided to hang out
Our gang at Provo High had a lot of clout
The guys were Udall, Johnson, Robison and Lowe
But we also let our gang grow

We let Leetham, Christen, Binks, and others in our gang
We loved to chat or hang
Out, as we visited chicks like Peterson, Snow, Ballif, and Rowe
Our gang was great and we know

That our high school days are fun to talk about
Now that we are out
Of school, some of us keep in touch
Sometimes we miss each other’s company so much

We remember some class cheerleaders included Nielson, Lindsay and West
Many guys thought Pearson was the best
However, many guys thought the other girls were great
Guys were lucky if they got to go out with them on a date

The class studs were Call, Snyder, Gardner, and Lott
These guys were big and they sought
Fame as they played their game
They also sought attention from all the hot dames

Getting good grades were important to many of us
Many of us put up a fuss
With all the strenuous home work
But we realized later we would get paid or get perks

The best part of PHS was all the amusing acts
Not memorizing data or facts
Ask yourself was socializing at PHS the best?
Or was it studying at a desk?
